Widescreen render to quicktime wont happen

Have you tried nesting your comp in a square-pixel, 16:9 comp and rendering that?

Yesss i already tried tha.. but it didnt worked it is till without th e black bars..

Oh, so you want the black bars?

Are you sure? Many playback systems will add the letterboxing if necessary, but if you render the black bars in, you may get letterboxing plus pillarboxing, or bars on all sides of the image (also known as litterboxing).

If you really want to render those black bars in, nest your widescreen PAL comp within a standard PAL comp. If necessary, select the widescreen precomp, then use Layer > Transform > Fit to Comp Width. Make sure the background color of your comp is black.

Welll yess, i want the black bars, but it is not that i want it.. it is a sight that is it is widescreen, isnt it ??

The problem is, i made it in a widesccreen comp, if i render it out, in FLV/Mediaplayer or els the black bars are at the top and bottom.
So it is deffetnily, widescreen…

But only if i render it out in quicktime, it suddenly isnt, it is al square, without the bars, i made this short simple promo, nothing fancy for a client :

This is when i render it out as mediaplayer.

There is a diffrent in in the 2 video’s ( bythe way this is the one nested in another comp)

I hope you can help me out .. i wil try youre other advice with the blackbars

Depends on how wide you’re going, and what you play it back on.

Let’s start with your delivery specs. How are you delivering the finished product, and how will it be used?

i asked the customer what size he wanted the video he told me

720 x 576 widescreen. he needed it in avi/mediaplayer/quicktimen
for imovie and moviemaker.

He will use the intro & outro before and after his “how to video’s”

So i deliverd it as a mediaplayer in after affects, this one is alright say’s customer, but quictime not

What is most appropriate for your client totally depends on their own editorial settings.

I dont know, i just coose the comp, and then pal widescreen settings that are already in after effects.

Ok.

Create a standard PAL D1/DV comp with a black background color. Drop your widescreen comp into the standard comp, then Layer > Transform > Fit to Comp Width.

This will burn your black bars, top and bottom, into the render.

Please note — if your client is ultimately going to DVD, they really want to be working with anamorphic or square pixel widescreen instead. Letterboxing during production can lead to reduced resolution or double-boxing (letterboxing and pillarboxing) on some displays.

If your client is working for the web, square pixel widescreen is probably the best choice.

Pal d1/dv widescreen and Pal d1/dv widescreen square pixel?
