Sorry, i’m a bit new to FCP, so this is probably a really silly question,
but I’m trying to capture mini dv tapes into my FCP, filmed with a widescreen.
I’ve put my capture settings to DV PAL Anamorphic and my sequence aswell,
but i don’t see this option at my video playback, only DV PAL.
Anyway, my capture preview window is widescreen,
but when i capture, the capture window pops up with 720×576.
I don’t know if that’s my video playback.
My sequence is widescreen, but when i but this captured film in the timeline it’s also 720×576.
Does this make any sense to anyone?

If you use the DV anamorphic capture preset all that does is insure that there is a checkmark in the anamorphic column in the FCP browser. So, heaven forbid, should you accidentally capture as DV 4×3, all you need to do to fix the isse would be to place a checkmark in the anamorphic column of every clip.

BTW, you should begin every project by selecting the Easy Setup for the type of video you’re working with, which will insure that all settings are proper. Trying to set them all yourself can lead to missed checkboxes etc. There are DV Anamorphic Easy Setups for both NTSC and PAL.
