Wide screen monitor or 2 monitors
Posted by Kevin Labonty on October 12, 2006 at 1:58 pmI am purchasing a new monitor. Is it better to have two monitors or one of those new 20″ wide screens for workflow? I mainnly use Photoshop and Vegas.

October 12, 2006 at 4:33 pmIf you want to spread things out farther, I would say two monitors. If you want to use a secondary monitor for HDV preview, two monitors.
In other words two monitors??

October 12, 2006 at 6:09 pmWell… I guess one wide screen would take less desk space… 🙂
Overall, two monitors would give more flexibility than one would allow. For example, you coule put the timeline only on the left monitor. Then you could put everything else docked in various configurations on the right monitor (as one example).

October 13, 2006 at 1:50 pmEven still better yet is two widescreen monitors! 🙂
However, if the choice is between two 19″ monitors and one 20″ widescreen, I’d go with the dual 19s. That will give you more screen real estate.
I have a pair of Dell 24″ widescreen monitors, and I love the setup.
