  • Why would my X rotation be rotating on the z axis?

Posted by Brad Ballew on October 17, 2010 at 2:25 pm

So I just imported a camera from boujou into after effects cs5. I made me video a 3d layer and was adjusting it behind my tracking points to match the cameras frame. The first time I started changing the values in the X rotation it worked as it should. Suddenly now when I go to change the values under X rotation is rotates my video on the z axis. I cannot understand why this would possibly be happening. The z axis values rotate on the z axis and my x values also rotate on the z axis. It’s very frustrating. It has happened twice in a row now, so it wasn’t a one time glitch. Has anyone ever run into this problem?

Do not adjust the rotation controls of the layer- link the layer to a series of Nulls (one for each adjustment you have to make) and adjust rotation this way.
