This is actually making me feel like I’m going crazy. I’ve expanded my audio tracks to see the “Audio 1” title.
I right click and choose “Rename” and it allows me change the name.
I change the name to something like “Character 1 Lav”
    It appears like it should.
I scroll down the timeline, change the track size or pretty much do ANYTHING and the track names either shift down to the one below it so now A2 is named “Character 1 Lav” or it just resets completely back to “Audio 1”.

This is after several restarts, reboots and different edit sessions.

    I’m on CC V11

Are you naming multiple tracks the same thing? Example:

    A1 – DX_Bob
    A2 – DX_Bob

If so, then you have run into the same issue i’ve had in the past; Premiere (the latest version anyways) doesn’t like tracks with the same label/name.

If not… well, then that’s a new one. Maybe dump your preferences?

There was a known bug with renaming audio tracks, but cannot remember which version.
    Might want to update.

    Braden,

I have been battling with this for years – this advice is a life-saver, thank you very much!

But WhyTaF I have to write the track number in my label name to get the track to rename, is beyond me.

Am I the only one sending Audio out of the building to be mixed, who will have overlapping interview and music tracks + other tracks that needs to be ISO and separated out from one another?

    Surely #Adobe can do better?
