  • Why wont all offline media Relink in one go?

All the media was captured to an internal drive and then copied to an external firewire drive. When I attempted to relink the clips to the Firewire media it only linked about 75% of the clips in one go even though I checked ‘link all in path’ or whatever its called. Why didn’t it relink the rest? I then had to manually highlight the remaining offline clips and relink them one by one. If I tried to relink, say 5 clips at a time, it would only show one highlighted clip so I stopped in case it relinked all 5 clips to the higlighted media files. Was I mistaken? How can I ensure all clips get relinked in one go?

Keep going from there. You almost had it! There is also a little check box to ensure files with the same relative location will relink. As long as all of the files highlighted are in the same location, it will work.

I’ll add the one caveat that you may have to manually relink each of the ones that didn’t work. I have had cases where all of the media was in the same location, but only some of them relinked. Just have to try it.

Use the Media Manager to move your stuff and it will be relinked automatically.
