why r my clips importing pixelated in fcp?
hi!
when i import to an fcp sequence these otherwise fine-looking clips in quicktime, they get incredibly pixelated, and export that way too.
the clips are on prores 720p at 30 fps. i am using this set up too for the sequence, but have also tried others without success.
can u see what’s happening? any help is greatly appreciated.

How about a screen shot of what you’re seeing? Maybe screen shots of the item properties of the clips and of the sequence would be helpful too.

hey chris, thk u 4 helping out.
the clips were digitized on my mac with fcp, adjusted in compressor and then worked in color.
but all and all, the problem is that although they look fine and as expected with quicktime, in fcp they open up pixelated.
i will post samples asap, so that it gets clearer.

Right. Appears that Peter is not monitoring with an external video monitor. Peter, what happens when you stretch out your Canvas so that it is 100% size precisely??

the problem persists on an export from fcp regardless of monitoring… if i open the clip using fcp as a simple player the problem is the same, whereas opening this clip with quicktime or color shows it fine! asap will post screens caps, maybe clearer then. thx!

You slipped in a little information here that maybe needs more detail

Please explain exactly what your process was, what the original specifications were, exactly what you did in Compressor, and exactly what sequence specification you’re editing in FCP. Give as precise and complete information of everything that’s gone on here because it’s possible something went very wrong in this process.

As I said, try setting your Canvas to 100% and see how it looks. It’s a very common problem.
