  • Why not Adobe PPCS4 won’t work with Win7 Ultimate

Can u please explain why Adobe PremierePro CS4 won’r work properly with Windows 7 Ultimate?? Is it because of a “bit” differences?? or for any other reason??

I have freezing problems on time line.. I am using Sony XD EX1 clips on the time line. Sometimes it works up to Dynamic LInk Encore and when it starts encoding, after few seconds it gives an error message “Encode failed”

My computer config: WIN7 Ultimate/ Xeon 2.4 GHz, 12 GB RAM, Nvidia FX3800 Video card with 1GB RAM, C:\ 1TB SASHDD on RAID 5 system, D:\600 GB SAS HDD (not on RAID)

Any thoughts to get it going? Thanks

It should run, I know people that had it with CS4 before they upgraded to CS5, did you load all the updates for CS4 when you loaded the system?

Before I upgraded to CS5, I had used PPCS4 with windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit without problem. My configuration was quite similar to yours. I had not, however, used it with Sony EX clips. Have you tried using different types of clips……that may narrow it down some.

You may want to use the XDCAM explorer and play with export formats.

If you are the same Pushpa who used to be in QMM, I believe you still have my email address, and I can put you in touch with someone who has an EX1. Although he uses Edius, he can assist with the XDCAM explorer.

Thx Nigel…after a long silence I am back in video editing again with lots of probs..R u still with QMM-Southside?? or joined the new group in Southside??
I am going to Del CS4 and install CS5 and see whether the problems I am experiencing disappears…If it not work, then I have to switch other software which can be used easily…

    Hi Nigel

All the grief I have faced with CS4 been resolved by installing CS5 Production Premium in my machine..I have used DynamicLink and built a BlueRay disc without having any problem. No freezing slowing down were observed…Thx
