  • Why Isn’t the HDMI Out on Our FS-100 Working?

We’ve had an FS-100 for about ten months. We always dub the footage to XDCAM disc by going from the HDMI out on the camera to HDMI in on a DataVideo box that gives us an HD-SDI out that we go into the XDCAM deck (F70) with. This is a backup system that we always use because we’ve lost some critical files when exporting to a hard drive. We keep the backups until we’ve finished the project.
The HDMI out has stopped working. We’ve ruled out all the other possibilities, ie changed all the cables, used the HDMI out from another camera, used a different F70 XDCAM deck, bought a replacement for the DataVideo box, so we’ve confirmed that it’s the HDMI out from the FS-100 that’s the problem.

To make things more puzzling, we hooked the FS-100 up to a monitor using the HDMI out and it worked, but stranger still, the picture was really bad, quite muddy, on the 50″ HD monitor.

We think there is some setting on the FS-100 that we inadvertently changed. Does anyone have any ideas? tx

Sounds as if the port is bad. There are no settings that I know of that would cause this problem
