  • Why is there suddenly a default filename for my AE renders?

Adding to render queue now creates a file with the output name “06.mov.” I have no idea why this is, and it is very inconvenient. I’m sure it’s a simple fix, but I don’t know what that is. Tried rebooting, tried switching to a different project, no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated!

By default it should be your “comp’s name”.”last format used”. Isn’t 06 your composition’s name? If previously it asked for the output name, there’s an option for that. You should check the preferences.

Other than that. I don’t know. What do you mean it “creates” a file? Where?

06 was not the comps name, and by creates file, I mean in the render queue, the file to be rendered does not have the comps name, instead it is called “06.mov.” Eventually solved by changing render-to location, but I still have no idea what happened.

Is your naming template set to current frame?

I am unfamiliar with that function, so I will answer “probably.”
