  • Why is Smart Resample default in Sony Vegas Pro?

First thing I do when starting a new project is to change Disable Resample on all of my clips because the ghosting looks awful, why is that set on default? 😛

Not sure, but you can use a script to automatically Disable it
on every event once they are on the timeline.

Cool, I don’t know how to use them. Is there a tutorial out there for this? I would like to try it.

Leaving out the Quote Marks, try entering this phrase in Google: “how to use a script in vegas pro

Because way back in the days of DV, Smart Resample use to almost always do the “right thing”. Today, with all of the different non-standard HD camera formats, it doesn’t always get it right. Obviously whatever combination you are using is causing you to have to disable it. I never have to touch it. The real solution is for Sony to make it “smarter” again. 😉

You could purchase VASST Property Assistant ($9.95 USD) which is one such script and it will change all of your events to Disable Resample with one click.

And the great thing about John’s suggestion, is that you don’t even need to learn how to use Scripts them, which is what you asked.

I have the VASST Tool and it works straight off the Bat.

Making suggestions nowadays is full of “trapdoors”.

Yes, VP12 has that Option now.

$10 for THIS?! Ouch. I think I’ll skip that and do it manually.

    Thx anyway 😛
