Why is Smart Resample default in Sony Vegas Pro?
Posted by Carl Lundell on February 23, 2013 at 10:12 pmFirst thing I do when starting a new project is to change Disable Resample on all of my clips because the ghosting looks awful, why is that set on default? 😛

February 23, 2013 at 11:25 pmNot sure, but you can use a script to automatically Disable it

Leaving out the Quote Marks, try entering this phrase in Google: “how to use a script in vegas pro”

Because way back in the days of DV, Smart Resample use to almost always do the “right thing”. Today, with all of the different non-standard HD camera formats, it doesn’t always get it right. Obviously whatever combination you are using is causing you to have to disable it. I never have to touch it. The real solution is for Sony to make it “smarter” again. 😉

You could purchase VASST Property Assistant ($9.95 USD) which is one such script and it will change all of your events to Disable Resample with one click.

February 24, 2013 at 1:39 pmAnd the great thing about John’s suggestion, is that you don’t even need to learn how to use Scripts them, which is what you asked.
I have the VASST Tool and it works straight off the Bat.
