  • Why Is My Video Jagged? Its not the camera…..it must be a setting

    Hey Everybody,
Well I shot some video for the first time with a Canon XH-A1. I shot it in SD, and captured it in Premiere Pro 2.0. When I look at the video inside of Windows Media Player, or Quicktime — the video looks great. However, if I view it in Premiere Pro, its jagged around the edges of any hard colors.

Another weird thing is that if I bring it into after effects, and interpret the fields as ‘none’ then it goes away. However, as soon as I import the comp from After Effects or render it out, it goes jagged.

Is there a setting that I can change to make my video not jagged anymore? Its making me crazy, and I really don’t think I can deliver a clip like this. I’ve explored the ‘CLIP’ tab, and messed with a lot of those settings. Nothing seems to help. When I do reduce frame flicker, it helps a little bit, but it makes the video blurry!

    Can anyone help me?

I’m having the exact same problem – same camera, same thing happening. Some of the footage from other sessions with that camera is fine (no jagged edges). Did you ever get an answer to this question? I’m in search of a solution – it’s why I joined this forum. Any help is appreciated.
