Why does the HV30 look better than the XHA1?
OK, it’s not exactly better. The colors on the HV30 are definitely not as nice as the XHA1, but the texture in this well-lit studio shoot that I’m editing doesn’t compare. It seems that the 1-cmos HV30 has less grain than the 3 ccd XHA1. The XHA1 is a bit noisy and this is not a low light shoot. It’s not just the blacks that are noisy, but even some of the mid-tones.
Can someone explain this to me? I’m not a shooter, but I want to give the shooter some feedback. I wondered if any of you who know these cameras well could shed a little light on the subject and perhaps impart some advice. It seems that there shouldn’t be any picture noise at all, especially since there’s so much light that the highlights are approaching overexposure.Thanks.
