why does the Avid Preview monitor get darker when you play your timeline?
How come when you play you timeline the preview monitor gets darker and then when you pause it it lightens back up?
which is the true shade of color?
i am tryign to adjust my video monitors and dont know which is a better reference point.

The video overlay on the graphics card is different than the calibration used for the monitor themselves. This is a know issue with the graphic card. See:
