okay i am under the gun to create my first rough cut of a long video in premiere. i am making the rough cut by putting possible shots on the timeline in very rough order, then moving them around with the selection tool (V) on the timeline. every time i move something, it takes a moment, apparently to redraw the thumbnails on the clips. is there anything i can turn off to get rid of the redraw? i need this software to move faster.

    Basically, turn off the thumbnails.

Okay I found it. It’s “Set Display Style” just to the left of the track name.
