Why does project re-index mpg files?
I have repeatedly tried to open projects on different systems from an external hard drive. If there are indexed mpeg files in the projects it will always re-index them when I open the project somewhere else EVEN IF the drive has the same drive letter on all computers. I have checked and the index files are in the Media Cache folder on the external drive.
Does anyone know a workaround or what am I doing wrong?

Have you changed the path to the media cache files (in the preferences > media) as well as the scratch disks to that particular drive?
