Why does plain effector distort geometry instead of simply rotating along axis
I’m following a tutorial for a blooming flower. It uses a plain effector underneath a segment of sphere in order to ‘bloom’ the flower petals by rotating them outward along the x axis. When I set my rotation R . P value to -90 like the tutorial, it distorts the petals as it rotates rather than achieving a nice clean rotation. I can’t figure this out. Can someone look at the photos below and see what might be going wrong? Can include project file if needed. One is the entire bud when the petals are being distorted individually by the plain effector. The other is a single distorted petal with no subdivision or cloner so you can see clearly. the last one shows how it looks when undistorted. I just need the petal to rotate outward with no distortion of the geometry.
Thanks so much!
