Everytime I add footage to my timeline it has to render. Here are the properties of the video I am editing with according to Video Spec

    ***** Analyzed File Results *****

    *** General Parameters ***
    – Name: Yue Sao 43.mov
    – Container: MOV – QuickTime
    – Size: 94.06 MB
    – Duration: 23s 560ms
    – Bitrate: 32.0 Mbps

    *** Video Track Parameters ***
    – Format: DVCPRO (PAL)
    – Bitrate: Max.: — / Average: 24.4 Mbps / Min.: —
    – Frame rate (fps): Max.: — / Average: 25.000 / Min.: —
    – Encoding profile: Undefined
    – Image size: 720*576
    – Pixel Aspect Ratio: Undefined
    – Display Aspect Ratio: 295:162
    – Interlacing: Interlaced – Bottom Field First

*** First Audio Track Parameters ***
    – Format: Uncompressed PCM
    – Bitrate: 768 Kbps
    – Resolution: 16 bits
    – Rate: 48.0 KHz
    – Channel(s): mono

The setting I am using in FCPX are

    Video

    PAL SD 720*576 25i

    Audio

    48Khz Stereo

I have 4 tracks of audio.

Why does it render everytime I add anything? Cheers

The project needs to be set to PAL DV not uncompressed.

    All the best,

    Tom

    so

    PAL 720×576 DV Anamorphic

    as opposed to

    PAL 720×576 Anamorphic.

DVCPro is classed as DV? I guess so?

Cheers I’ll give it a whirl
