  • Why does FCP see my Beta SP tape as protected?

My SP deck is set up right for “Print to Video”… FCP is all working okay, but it keeps saying that “the tape appears to be Write Protected”… when it isn’t…

    Any help is welcome 🙂

Then REC Inhibit is enabled on your deck

    OR

You’re trying to perform an Insert Edit on a deck that does not support insert editing.

Or you put an older oxide tape in the machine instead of SP tape, done that myself a few times.
