  • Why change audio from little-endian to big-endian?

Posted by Francois Stark on November 13, 2012 at 4:13 am

    Can somebody please explain:

When I export Apple Prores HQ with 16 bit audio from FCP 7, I get little-endian audio.
When I export Apple Prores HQ with 16 bit audio from FCP x, I get big-endian audio. There is no way to change the audio to little-endian on a FCP X system.

I need to play these clips on a Blackmagic Hyperdeck, and it only plays little-endian audio.

    What do to?

    Regards
    Francois

    Compressor allows Little Endian.

You’ll have to setup a custom Compressor setting, then in the FCPX Share window choose “Add Destination > Compressor Setting”.
