Why can’t I SEE my MVI video clips in Vegas 6, but can hear the audio?
I took some short videos with my Canon A95 Powershot camera and imported them into Vegas 6. For some reason however, when I drag the MVI file to the video track area, only the audio shows up…and it plays fine. But there is no sign of the video that should be attached to it!!
Any ideas about how to fix this?

In a nutshell, it’s an MJPEG codec and it’ll cost you $19 – $20 for one.

Hi there. Thanks for your suggestion. So far, here’s what I’ve done:
I’ve installed the Morgan Codec software that was recommended but Vegas 7 (or 6 for that matter) still doesn’t recognize the video track but it does see the audio track.
I installed GSpot to examine the codec and it says that the proper codec is installed on my computer. What else could it be?
Any other ideas? I’m not sure what you were suggesting would cost $20. Could you be more specific? It seems that other suggestions that I’ve received make no mention of having to pay for a codec. Can’t you just download them for free? Regardless, it doesn’t seem to be a missing codec, at least not from what GSpot is telling me.

If it’s not MJPEG then it’s something else. While a codec that can read it *may* be installed on your computer, it must be a “Video for Windows” codec for Vegas to see it.
