  • Why cant i edit DVCPRO HD realtime?

I’ve got a dual core G5 2.3 Ghz. I have shot a documentary on the HVX200 in 720PN24. I imported the P2 cards and they say they are DVCPROHD 720P60 23.98. I have set up a sequence with those specifications and I have to render every clip. I am assuming I am doing something wrong because I understand I should be able to edit this footage realtime. Also I have to make the cliup anamorphic to fill the frame. Any ideas as to waht I am doing wrong.

Also what is a good board that has component outputs, so I can view the native HD on my Marshall monitor?

I just read the Panasonic White paper. I just chose the 720p24 easy setup and the problem is gone.

Use the DVCPROHD 720p24 easy setup and then create a new Seq.
    and import the footage.

CMD -9 one of the clips and see what the settings are

My guess is you did not shoot in the 720p24PN mode but shot in 720p24 which is handled like varicam as 23.98 content inside the 60fps video.
