Why can’t Dynaminc Link be more transparent?
I know it always seems easier for the guy who doesn’t have to write the code, but WHY doesn’t Adobe make Dynamic Link more transparent? Or maybe the question is: what would it take for Adobe to better integrate AE/PPro/PS?
Dynamic Links today are only in one direction – it seems to me that this could be fixed at least to some degree. I’d like to be able to open a PPro project in AE for tweaking and effects. Then be able to trim or rearrange the footage in PPro and have the changes show up in AE with all effects still in place.
Same with other effects and titles. Why can’t a fade or dissolve be available in AE? And WHY, for gosh sakes, is PPro’s titler invisible to any other Adobe application?
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been using Adobe’s stuff since the mid 90’s and what it does, it does well. But with each new upgrade, I’m puzzled at some of the features I see and the ones I DON’T see.
Yes, I know I can file (another) feature request, but the ones I sent never get a response and seem to disappear into some black hole. Do we need to start a list of how a well-integrated Creative Suite would actually perform?

We don’t respond to feature requests or bug reports unless we need more information. (Actually, I do respond to some others: the ones that ask for a feature that we already have.)
I’m the person who processes all of the feature requests and bug reports for After Effects, and two of my coworkers do it for Premiere Pro. So, no, it’s not a black hole.
Please keep those feature requests coming.
Regarding your specific area of interest: Note that we tighten and improve the integration with every version. It’s not trivial work, but it’s work that we consider important. Let us know specifically what areas you are most interested in.

Thanks Todd for the quick response. Looking back at my post, I guess my lack of sleep at the time helped make my post sound a bit surly – that wasn’t my intent.
After a little sleep, I think I was trying to say that I wish more effects and tools would be seamless across Adobe products. I also wish that I could tweak my PPro project in AE, then later make minor changes in PPro without having to start over in AE.
I’ll try to clarify what I’m after and submit a feature request in the next few days.
