  • Why are my left/right audio tracks not coming down form the viewer together?

Posted by Alex Dorman on August 5, 2010 at 8:44 pm

Help!! My audio tracks won’t come down from the viewer together, I’m trying to put them in the 7th and 8th audio track, and instead they insist on keeping three audio tracks in between them (meaning if the top track was in A3, the track on the bottom would be in A7), therefore making it impossible to put them in 7 and 8. It wasn’t doing this before and I don’t know why it just started, help please!

You have to target, or patch the audio source control to an audio track. Do this by dragging the a1 and a2 buttons to the A7 and A8 buttons (next to the tracks), respectively. Connect the source controls to the destination controls by clicking on the a1 and a2 buttons.

FCP now knows where you want to put the audio. When you overwrite or insert the audio they will appear on the A7 and A8 tracks.
