Why a color change between AE file and Photoshop file?
I am using a transitional movie on my DVD that goes from the main menu to the transition movie when a button is chosen to the next menu. My problem is a change in color from the movie to the menus. I have the photoshop menu files set to 8-bit RGB. I have the AE output settings set to RGB as well. What am I missing here?

When you’re working in AE, you’re working in YUV color space regardless of how you output.
There’s a slight color/exposure shift as the information is moves from one color space to the
next. A minor color correction in AE will fix this. I prefer Synthetic Apperture’s SI.Eric

You mean RGB, not YUV, no?

No, AE is natively YUV. Photoshop is RGB or CMYK.

Hi,
Is it possible you are using a color profile in Photoshop that AE is ignoring? I know that I have exported digital images from Adobe Lightroom using the ProPhoto colorspace and then loaded them in Shake and Shake is either ignoring the color space or assuming a different one. It is possible that AE is doing the same thing.

AE 7.0 does support color spaces. To specify the color space you are working in, go to the project panel, click on the flyout menu located on the top right > Project Settings > Working Space.

Thank you for the suggestions. I color corrected the AE file to match the Photoshop file and it turned out great. If anyone determines why this is necessary though, please let me know! I’d love to skip the color correction step.
