Why 655 x 480
I forget why a Vegas Project that is 720 x 480 creates a 655 x 480 still image when using the
“save snapshot to file” feature?Why does photoshop call a DV file 720 x 583?

For the same reason Vegas calls it 655×480. They’re both converting back to square pixels since video uses nonsquare pixels. It really doesn’t matter if the first or second number is changed but one of them must be to get back to square.
