White video file, black preview? NEED HALP ASAP
I was editing my a video for a school project when suddenly the video files on the timeline turned white and the preview turned pitch black. Some files are still working perfect but the majority of them are not. The video clips are a .mov format and the audio works perfectly fine. Would be great if some people could suggest a fix.

Vegas Pro prior to version 14 uses QuickTime for Windows to play back MOV files which is a 32-bit component that limits your available memory to 2GB so after you place a few MOV files into your project it runs out of memory even though your computer has more. It sounds like thus may be happening to you.
The solution is not not use MOV files. Convert them to MP4 or something that Vegas Pro can edit natively.

Wow thanks, I just deleted some of the .MOV files and shazam it worked perfectly fine again. But in order for me to not have this problem in the future it is recommended I upgrade to 14?

I am told that 14 supports QuickTime natively now. If that’s true, then that would be one solution. I would download the free trial and see for yourself.
