    hi!
i have white text (an indesign file) on a black background solid.

i duplicate the text layer and apply a luma matte on it so a background will be visible in the characters. this is the most top layer.

when applying the luma matte, i get a white border around the text, although they are the exact same size.

so why is that and what can i do to prevent this?
    thanks

I wonder if it may have something to do with aliasing? Is the text coming from a graphic image or straight out of After Effects’ text tool?

it’s an indesign file. so the text is written with the text tool in indesign. i import the indesign file into after effects and hit the sun icon to continuously rasterize.
