White Background on Drop Shadow in Illustrator
Hi, pretty urgent problem as deadline looms!
A bit of background: We have a large format .AI file (supplied by a third party) and I need to export some elements of it to use in After Effects. We know After Effects pretty well, but not Illustrator. I’ve figured out how to drag around the elements I want and collect them for export. The problem I have is that all the elements have a drop shadow, which looks fine in the original Artboard in Illustrator – BUT however I export it (PNG + PDF seem to be the only options that support transparency) I end up with a white background behind the drop shadow.
I’ve also tried copying just the elements I want onto a new Artboard and exporting an .AI file but you still get the white background behind the drop shadow, in Illustrator and when imported into After Effects.
Is this a common problem or am I doing something daft?
