Which Slots HD extreme and HDone both want slot 4
Hi Im doing a brand new install:
Macpro 8 core
8 gigs RAM
Nvidia 8800GTinstalling Decklink HD Extreme wt HDMI
and CALDIGIT HDone RAIDQ) Both Decklink and Caldigit recommend using Slot 4 however on Caldigits site they give an example
of using a AJA and HDone where HDone is in slot 4 and the AJA card is in Slot 3, what should I do
with the Decklink HD Extreme card? should I do what Caldigit recommends for there example combo?Thanks

the cards belong in slots 3 and 4. Both cards operate very well in x4 lane slots. If you have a new MAC Pro, you dont’ have to worry about this. If you have an “early” Mac Pro, open the Expansion Slot Utility (it will open by itself if you first install the cards), and set the lanes for x16 for the graphics card, x1 for slot 2 (and don’t use slot 2), and x4 for both Slots 3 and 4. Then everything will work.
