Hi, which of these slightly crappy monitors do you think is better for video editing (with some color correction)?

    Samsung Syncmaster 2253
    1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz
    1000:1 (Native) / 8000:1 (dynamic)
    16.7 million colors
    300 cd/m²
    81 kHz (horizontal)
    75 Hz (vertical)
    2 ms

    Acer G215HV
    1920 x 1080
    600:1 (Native); 20,000:1 (Dynamic)
    16.7 million colors
    200cd/m²
    60Hz
    5 ms

    Thanks!

Assuming you are editing 1080i or 1080p video, for me that would mandate that the display be 1920×1080, to eliminate scaling artifacts. All other factors aside, I’d at least want a full HD display to start with.

    Thanks

I’d go for the faster, brighter one with more contrast ratio. I wouldn’t use it either for critical color.
