  • Which mograph effector to use?

I’ve got a rain fall of objects that are falling from an emitter (cloner). I want the clones to be at 0 scale until an effector (falloff: sphere) passes by them. At which point the objects would scale to their full size and continue to fall.

How would i achieve this keeping in mind that the clones (once grown) should maintain their size even though they have fallen outside of the effectors fall of range?

Is this a step or inheritance effector thing? I’ve read the manual on all and messed around with no luck.

Thanks in advance. Hopefully should be an easy answer.

I’d use a plain effector with linear falloff.

    Thanks Adam.

The catch is that i’m trying to reveal them in a spherical area. Almost as if a paint stroke reveals the clones.

Using a linear fall off reveals them all Left to Right
Using a spherical fall off reveals them as desired but they shrink back down as the sphere continues to move.

How would i use a sphere fall off to grow a cloner object from 0 to 100 and keep it at its largest state?

Hmm, in that case I would use a volume effector with an animated sweepnurbs object as the volume reference.

    Example: 3732_spheregrowth.c4d.zip
