  • Where’s the “keyframe controller area/timeline”?

I have Sony Vegas Pro 8.0c b260 (I think build 260, maybe 217 – I’m using my blackberry pearl to post this) and I want to create lower thirds graphics (the kind used in newscasts). Sony’s website had an article on the subject. The author does not even mention the exact version he uses and it may a 2007 article.

The link to the page is:
    https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/news/article.asp?articleid=45

I was able to follow along until I got to the part in the Media Generators/Textures windowPanel for the Moss texture.

The image I’m speaking about is this:
    https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/images/ss/md/Rebholz-2008-01-04.jpg

The article mentions the “keyframe controller area”, but my version doesn’t have that area in the window panel. I do see a similar panel in the Pan/crop window panel. But the tutorial says that its in Vegas Pro and that one can use the keyframe controller area to animate textures.

I was able to complete the tutorial but my texture doesn’t animate nor did it create a new keyframe in the keyframe controller timeline as the author discribes.

Has anyone had this issue? Does 8.0c not have this feature? Was it moved to pan/crop? Any help appreciated! Thank you!

Hover your mouse over the bottom of the window until it turns into a double arrow up and down and then click and drag up. The keyframe area is there, it’s just collapsed into the bottom of your window. You have to drag it up to see it.
