    Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knows where I can buy(or download for free) footage of elements such as water, fire smoke etc. I’ve seen some footage brilliantly photographed against black backgrounds, or ready to key. I just need the footage in SD and, as always, price is a concern. Any recomendations?

    Artbeats.com is a good place.

Also, for free, check out public domain stuff. Some of it is dated, and it’s very hit and miss.
Best way is to film it yourself, if the project is low budget. Show your producer the price of the stock footage, then compare it to the price of a camera rental plus your rate. If time is a factor and deadlines are looming, you might find that they are willing to find some extra money in the budget for stock footage.
