You will find those in most store that carry DVDs, under “dual layer DVD”.

I would not recommend using them (consumer version) because of compatibility issues. To your other question, yes you can burn a dual layer in Encore (given that your drive supports dual layer burning).

I have produced several Dual Layer projects via Encore CS3 and CS4, yet to do one in CS5, but all of them worked perfectly and made successful copies with a DualLyaer DVD burner duplicator tower.

The media used to burn does come to quality and price. They aren’t cheap and that’s why clients don’t want to pay for Dual Layer and settle for poorer quality or 2 DVDs.

I have used Ritek for Single layer DVDs (DVD-5) and never had issues. But the best for Dual Layer (DVD-9) in my experience is the Verbatim brand.

A quick tip. Always export a test DVD file in ISO format and test the buttons, chapter links, chapter skips all work as expected before burning a disc. It will take way less time to make an ISO file and open it on the computer and check it all – than it would to just burn the Dual Layer DVD. And don’t burn any printed discs until you know you have a perfectly working DL DVD Master that also works as expected when checked and the chapter selected for the Dual Layer break works too.
