  • Where/how to credit photos in 9X16 social videos

Can anyone please advise where/how to credit photos or other multimedia used in vertical, 9X16 videos for social media? (e.g. at the end, over the relevant visual, in the body text of the social post) I’m new to videos like this and would be grateful for any advice on that point. It’s hard enough to find the best way to credit multimedia in normal 16X9 videos, but I’m at a loss about the best way/place to do it in videos like this.

    Hello Neil,

Here are a few ways to credit the authors of the images while minimizing distractions for viewers:

    1. A credits screen at the end of the video.
    2. On-screen overlays (Be mindful of where you place them, considering any overlays that your chosen social media platform may automatically add).
    3. Including credits in the post description.

You can use one or a combination of these approaches, depending on what suits your needs best.

    Best regards,

    Ivan Eldredge G.

Thanks so much for the helpful reply Ivan! And for laying out the options so well. I agree. If you or others happen to know of any, I’d be grateful for links to examples of such crediting, in 9X16 videos, particularly ones with the on-screen option. Like you said, you have to be very careful of where/how you put such on-screen credit, which I feel like would be the simplest approach, especially since I won’t control what the social body text will say, and our social director may not like end-credits because they lengthen the video. But it is challenging to place on-screen credit text, given the weird narrow format. Thanks again!
