  • Where have my audio edits gone? (In multi-clip)

Hi there, I seem to have lost all my audio edits from a multi-cam switch I just did. I’m not sure how it happened.

Now, the sequence I switched in multi cam mode has all the vision edits, but all my audio edits (which were there, are now gone.) They have all been replaced by one media file and it’s name is the name of the multi-clip.

What is even wierder is that it has done the same to all earlier versions of the same sequence, so I can’t even revert to an earlier version of the cut. (I even tried reverting to an earlier version of the project and that didn’t work either.

The only other thing I did was to subclip the large multiclip sequence into smaller, more manageable chunks. Did that spak it out?

Or am I missing something really simple like a sneaky setting somewhere?

    Cheers,
    Rob.

I’ve never subcliped a multiclip… so figure that’s where the problem lies… But the other thing that may have happened is that you inadvertently told it to quit editing the audio with the video?

Try putting an un-subcliped multiclip in a sequence and see if it doesn’t hold those audio edits as it should…? if so, I’ll bet the subclips are the problem….

IF that’s the case. Seems to me the quickest fix is either a re edit, or you might try collapsing the edited multiclip, performing a match frame, then replace the video only edit with an A/V edit?

Odd stuff here. I’m guessing, but figure the subclipping of the multiclip is a no no.

Thanks, Jerry. Appreciate it. I think I might have worked it out – its somehow automatically nested all the edits. My original edits are still there (somewhere)…I think….

Do you know if I export an OMF from this edit (with nested audio tracks) will it be OK??
