  • Where did the Newblue effects go in Vegas Pro 10

Posted by Jason Smith on February 24, 2011 at 3:09 am

Just got Vegas Pro 10 today, installed it, updated it and now I’m noticing that all the Newblue effects that I had in Studio Platinum 10 are gone!

Do I need to buy them, or will i have to go edit in Platinum 10, render and import into Vegas Pro 10?

    Bummer!

    Thanks for your help

The free effects are only in Vegas Studio.

That’s interesting. If they are DirectX plug-ins then they should show up under Vegas Pro 10 32-bit if they are still installed. Unless NewBlue did something to make them only work with Movie Studio as a host.

Are you using Vegas Pro 10 32-bit? (they may not be 64-bit enabled)

If you have the Vegas Movie Studio bundled package installed, they will show up in Vegas Pro 10 32-bit but will NOT show up in Vegas Pro 10 64-bit. All versions of Movie Studio are 32-bit so the plugins are only 32-bit and will not work in the 64-bit versions of Vegas Pro.

    Hello,

Yes, when I installed Vegas Pro I had the option of 32 or 64bit and went with 64, thinking it might use all the RAM I have.

Thanks for the feedback, like I said, I see my self going between the two of them to finish videos.
