  • Where did “Alpha Levels” go in AE CS5.5 ???????

Posted by Doug Nash on July 10, 2012 at 9:45 pm

Seriously. I’m either going blind, or they renamed the damn thing, or it just doesn’t exist.

I can’t find that old trusted filter, ANYWHERE in CS5.5 Mac.

But…here’s the weird thing. It works fine if import an older project in. The plugin is there and works like always. I just can’t find it up in the “Effects” pulldown, like where it should be. So, if it works by importing an older project, then the plugin MUST exist in CS5.5.

Please help me stop the insanity!

    Thanks.

    Hi there!

    According to the AE documentation:

“The Alpha Levels effect has been removed. Instead, use the Levels effect, which can be assigned to work only on an alpha channel, has a histogram, and is a 32-bpc effect. Old projects that use the Alpha Levels effect will still open, and you will still be able to modify the Alpha Levels effect properties in these projects: Levels effect”

    Hope it helped.

    Cheers!
