I always back up events before I begin editing.

Just recently, after editing several projects attached to an event (all using multicam clips), I accidentally deleted the event.

Fortunately, I had my back up event but after copying this to the ‘Final Cut Events’ folder, I was still getting missing media/clips in the projects.

I’m assuming this is because Final Cut saves multicam clips to the Events folder and not the Projects folder (though I can’t see where)… and because my back up event was created before I created the multicams, I have lost those projects for good!

I’m making this post in the desperate hope that someone might tell me otherwise 🙁

    Phil.
P.s. I tried making another multicam clip with exactly the same name as a clip that was missing but this didn’t work. Is that a timestamp/metadata thing?

What happens if you relink the multicam clip in the project? Or what if you try to match frame back to the event?
