When will FinalCut Studio finally support dvcpro HD 720p50?
Material coming in from my P2 equipped Panasonic AG-HVX201A shot in DVCPro HD720p50 frames still does not have support for this format in the latest Final Cut Studio which I keep updated with upgrades.
This is really ridiculous when Final Cut 6.0.5 has a whole separate utility for importing the P2 format yet you cannot choose a sequence preset that supports the 50 frames, 25, yes, but not the step up to 50.
Why is Final Cut lagging so far behind this vital support for a very popular format in Europe and other countries?
If I drag the clips to the timeline it will ask whether I want to conform the specs to the incoming footage and I say YES. But, if I can save a project using the 50 frames spec then why can’t I set the whole project to this by default in the audio/video settings?
