    Hello –

I have been using AE 6.5 Pro on a P4HTextreme 3.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 6800 GPU. For the past few days it keeps crashing… I mean it crashes even before I can get started. When I click to import a file the program instantly closes. I thought maybe it was a 6.5 issue, so I tried my old 6.0 and the same thing happens. I then tried disabling Norton Internet Security while running the program in case of conflict and it still crashes.

Can anyone recsue this poor AE Neophyte? A very important job depends on it.

Thank you to any Guru’s who can enlighten me in a advance.

    Chuck

Someone sent me a message that solved the problem… All I had to do to fix the problem was remove the OpenGL3D .AEX file from C:\program files\adobe after effects 6.5\support files\plug-ins\standard\extensions. Apparently there is a conflict with my video card.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

Yes, there’s a known problem with some older Nvidia drivers. I’d suggest you update your video card drivers when you get a chance. No rush, though, you don’t lose anything by running without OpenGL (except OpenGL, of course).
