When Sony will release Lion and FCP X XDCAM Compatible Softwares ?

For me the Log and Transfer plugin 64 bits is in rush need to import native and also XDCAM Browser to safely copy my SxS cards … Maybe Ian Cook Sony guys have infos.

Now i must use a dual boot set-up with Mac OS X 10.6.8 , XDCAM Browser 1.2 and XDCAM Transfer to get my shooting ingested and boot in Lion to do editing not very funny.

Any tips from Ian Cook or Sony insiders to give us a roadmap will be welcome for now at a minimum i can ouput Blu-Ray with the new Matrox drivers for Lions.

We should have an update very soon re XDCAM Browser support (for both Optical XDCAM and EX) under Lion. XDCAM Transfer and the Log and Transfer plugin are EOL and in all probability will not be updated. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience.

Are we talking about an XDCAM Browser who can Copy SxS cards , put a wrapper in .mov , and communicate with FCP X under Lion.

Are we talking about a few days , weeks , months because the longer it take the longer is my nightmare in dual boot world.

I you can be more accurate please do so , but if you cant because you are under NDA please tell us , myself are under NDA with Matrox and Apple and nothing wrong telling you about-it.

So i can understand but nothing wrong if you tell us.

Can’t you give us a hint about timeframe? Perhaps Sony are acting under Apple NDA?

I have contacted Sony and spoke with Mr. Ian Cook (800 883 6817) and can happily clear us the confusion
and differing points of view re XDCAM upgrade to Mac’s LION OS: Here’s goes:

XDCAM BROWSER V 2.0 WITH LION SUPPORT WILL BE AVAILABLE OCT
XDCAM TRANSFER 2.13 WITH LION SUPPORT WILL BE AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER
AVID AMA V 1.3 FOR LION COMING IN SEPT.
VFAM 3.0 (FOR PDW-U1 and FORTHCOMING PDW-U2) , FAM,SXS DRIVERS COMING SEPT.

xdcam transfer 2.13 is out! it’s not online yet but I called sony and a nice rep emailed me a link to download it!
