  • When scaling a comp, it keeps flipping.

    Hi all,

I have a comp with 2 layers. One is camera footage, and the other is a stock element.

When I place the element in the comp, I obviously need to move, scale and rotate it to the correct position.

    Here’s how the problem happens:
    1. Right click the element, go to Transform > Flip Horizontal. (or Vertical, the problem still happens)

    2. Click and drag the corner to scale. It should scale just fine.

    3. Now hold down SHIFT while dragging the corner, to keep the proportions. The layer loses its Flip and starts flipping out any old direction.

Why can’t I just flip the layer and make it bigger?

I’m not sure why this is happening now, because I’ve made other videos with stock footage. I can’t remember this glitch happening any other time.

Watch the values for scale, when you drag the corner handles for scale it can flip because the values have gone into negative numbers.

Why not just scrub the scale value number?

You’re right the values switch signs when I hold down shift.
But isn’t that a bit silly??

From now on I will just use the scale slider.
