When RT isn’t
Quick question, sometimes when I play the playhead over a composition of 3-4 layers the system will play it on my main monitor
out and then when it can’t keep up it freezes on my main monitor and plays staggered on my canvas on the mac. Oddly it never plays back the same amount of comped video each time, even allowing longer ‘preroll’ times. So sometimes it plays a comp and then when you hit play again it freezes as above. I have timeline set to High quality and frame rate in RT. Any thoughts on the subject? -

All of the above is on a quad 3 plenty of Ram, fast drives and FCP5.1.2

Bizarrely, just upgraded to new drivers and this issue seems to be resolved.How good is that.Well done aja.

This entire issue has more to do with your drive speed, video format and effects / filters applied to your sequence. Kona has nothing to do with RT playback except in the case of HDV and DVCPro HD formats.

Oddly was definitely an issue with the last drivers ( for me at least) as it all began to work with the latest release. It was a problem I’ve had since buying the LHe 2 yrs back. So I take it you’ve not had this issue?
(ie inconsistent freezing on main crt playback whilst getting staggered playback in canvas on a 3-4 layered unrendered comp) This is when having all set up correctly…..easy setups.Either way delighted all behaving.
