  • When rendering a big file into .avi in Vegas 8 Pro…

…it always breaks it up into separate files, each only going up to 3.99GB. I may have three or four files, all 3.99GB big, when in fact I only want one file, no matter how big, because I have a program that condenses down the GB size but keeps the .avi quality.

Is there a way to stop Vegas from doing this?

Vegas is not splitting the file… your hard drive is. It sounds like you are rendering to a hard drive which is formatted for FAT32 that has a 4GB filesize limit. You need to render to an NTSF formatted drive or convert that drive to NTFS.
