    Hello

When importing the MFX files to Final Cut 6. Does Final Cut duplicates them? or automatically converts them to MOV??

Or one can just work with the MFX files?

    thanks

FCP Log and Transfer copies the contents of the MXF file into a new quicktime file, but it does not make a duplicate set of MXF files.

To skip the Log and Transfer process and edit the MXF files directly, and access the metadata from within FCP, use Raylight for Mac https://dvfilm.com/raylight/mac

In either case I highly recommend making a backup of the entire contents of every P2 card before you work with them in FCP. Those are your digital negatives and should be treated accordingly.
