I have 30 gigs of space left on my harddrive and my movie is only 17gigs. So why is it telling me that the project is too large for my drive? I have put ins and outs on my project. I am using a quicktime movie. I tried mp4 and that didn’t work.

Your hard drive is probably formatted as FAT 32. It needs to be NTSF. FAT 32 only supports 4GB files.

You will need to convert to NTSF. Search the net for the instructions. All of the instructions will warn you of possible data loss. Make sure to back up. I have done this to several drives without any data loss.

Most new computer should come as NTSF. However, my brother just bought a new laptop (top of the line – not sure what brand) it came with FAT 32.
