when i render the movie the .avi file is 2.5 Gb in size
hey you guys..
i am making a movie that’s 12 min in lenght and is 720 * 576 in size… when i render the movie the .avi file is 2.5 Gb in size… why is the movie so large?
can i do anything to make it smaller?best regards

Use the Adobe Media Encoder and export using the DVD MPEG2 preset. The resulting file will be much smaller.
You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

It would be helpful to know what you want to do with the finished video. There are MANY presets in the Adobe Media Encoder for different purposes, including DVD, YouTube, iPod, internet etc.
DV video uses about 13GB per hour, so the size you are seeing is normal for the finished clip at full size, full quality. Anything you encode for the web (.wmv for instance) will use a smaller frame size and more compression (lower quality) and thus will result in smaller files
