I am new to the cow and have followed your discussions with interest over the past month or so. Our company just yesterday officially replaced 2 Media 100 suites with FCP5 and AJA I/O. Officially in the sense that the papers were signed. The merchandise (complete with full blown G5’s) should be arriving at the end of the week. As I said I followed all the hype leading up to the arrival of FCP (i.e. “FCP Studio shipping now…” etc., etc.) But the forum has been relatively quiet on how you all like it.
Is it too soon to tell? Have we made the right choice going with FCP? I guess I’m just looking for comfort! : )
    Thanks!

We have had very few problems with our existing FCP stations on a variety of Power Mac flavors. My current machine is a dual 2GHz with 2 GB RAM and Final Cut 4.5. Once we went with FCP from an old machine based edit system, we have never looked back.

I have just installed Tiger on an older Mac, a Dual 1GHZ with 1.5GB RAM and then installed FCP 5.0 On several occassions FCP has crashed. Haven’t really given it a thorough run thru. These types of problems are common with new configurations and software and I’m not overly concerned…..
